From 31st March 2025, new government recycling legislation will come into effect, requiring all businesses to separate their waste into different streams for recycling.
What This Means for Your Business
If your business has 10 or more full-time equivalent employees, you will be legally required to have separate bins for the following waste types:
- Non-Recyclable General Waste
- Dry Mixed Recycling – Includes plastics, metal packaging (such as cleaned milk bottles, plastic tubs, cartons, aluminium cans, tin cans, aerosols, etc.)
- Cardboard & Paper
- Glass
- Food Waste
If you already have separate waste collections in place for these waste streams, no action is needed.
