Settling into the New Year hasn’t been quiet for the team at Crystal Clean Service but for all the right reasons. 2019 saw substantial growth for the company, with new contracts helping to fuel the expansion. The team also embraced an internal restructure which resulted in a new Company Director and growth within both management and cleaning team members. The Directors then wanted the business to really lead the way amongst their sector and committed to the creation of an entrepreneurial apprenticeship programme, with their first candidate already showing signs of real potential.
Such big changes within the business meant that changes were also needed within the businesses systems and currently a massive investment is going into a new CRM to help the teams when they are onsite have better connectivity to the offices. At the annual management meeting in November last year it was very clear that these changes had already made a positive impact on team moral and development, with many clients also providing great feedback. As part of this review the decision was made to take on a third premises, the current locations in Chesterfield and Sheffield were struggling to cope with capacity but geographically worked well. Rather than look for a larger office the team decided to take on a third unit, for storage, office space and with purpose made recycling and cleaning stations.
Hayley Koseoglu founder and Managing Director is excited for what 2020 will bring “The team have worked so hard to put in to practice all the changes and we have seen a real boost in the business over the last year. The new additional office is located just of the M1 which provides great access to our teams working through Yorkshire and the East Midlands and also enables us to really utilise the new CRM through stock management, training and development”
Crystal Clean have always invested in youth employment but historically it has been on the cleaning side of the business. Last year Sarize Hill the company Operations Director interviewed a young lady that inspired the creation of their entrepreneurial apprenticeship programme. “In the early stages Storm started working with the cleaning teams, as she had left school with no qualifications she applied for the trainee cleaning role. It became clear that Storm’s lack of qualifications wasn’t through an aversion to hard work. She showed a brilliant work ethic and real interest in the business and off her own back started regularly sorting out stock and supplies to make things easier to manage. Very quickly we saw a decrease in misplaced stock and other team members were able to locate supplies more efficiently. After a period of consultation with the management team we decided the create the Apprenticeship programme. We offered Storm a position where she would take responsibility for stock, supplies and allocation, whilst learning business management through the apprenticeship. With the implementation of the new CRM, Storm will be managing all the stock, supplies and client requests from the new site, taking full responsibility in this area. We have only been in the new site 4 days, but she has already got the stock organised. We are so glad to have her on board”
Once the Apprenticeship programme is fully running, Crystal Clean Service will look to take on more young people with drive and enthusiasm to start a long-lasting career in the sector, for more information on any future positions get in touch with the team today.
